This privacy policy explains what Custom Home Builder Biddeford gathers through this website, mostly the answers people give in our estimate quiz and contact form. We store those answers in our customer relationship management system so we can reply, arrange a walk of your land and write up a price for your new home.

We call and text only with the consent you give by ticking the box on a form, and a reply of STOP ends the texts. Email [email protected] or use our contact page to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

Custom Home Builder Biddeford wrote this policy to show you what happens to the details you give us. It explains what this website gathers, the reasons we hold onto it and which outside services can see it.

Who We Are

We are Custom Home Builder Biddeford, and we build new custom homes on our clients' own land in Biddeford and the 17 towns around it in York and Cumberland counties. People reach us through www.customhomebuilderbiddeford.com, and every form on the site sends its answers directly to our office.

Information We Collect

When you fill in the estimate quiz or the contact form, we save what you type.

  • Contact details: your name, your phone number and your email address.
  • Project details: the town your land is in, whether you own it yet, what is on the lot today, the size of house and the finish level you want, how far along your plans are, when you hope to break ground, your budget range and any notes.
  • Submission details: whether the consent box was ticked, which page held the form and when it was sent.

Our own notes go into the same file, from each phone call and from the visit to your lot. Should you hire us, the written price, the signed contract and each invoice are added too.

Our web host, like any host, keeps a short technical log of each page visit. It records items such as your IP address and your browser type.

How We Use Your Information

We put what you share to three uses only:

  • replying to your request and writing up a price once we have walked your land
  • carrying out the build if you hire us, from the permit to the final walkthrough
  • getting in touch about your project by the methods you approved on the form

Your details are never used to sell you anything unrelated to your house. We do not sell, rent or trade them to data brokers or list sellers.

Where Your Information Goes

Three kinds of outside service touch your information, each one only to do its job for us.

  • Our CRM (customer relationship management system). Each form submission lands in our CRM along with a log of the calls, texts and emails between us. Our calls, texts and emails to you go out from it.
  • Our website host. Cloudflare delivers this site to your browser and can see the technical log data that travels with each request. It also passes along email sent to our address on its way to our inbox.
  • Maps. Our town maps pull their map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which means viewing one sends your IP address to that service.

We can be required to disclose information by law, for example by a subpoena or a court order. We may also disclose it when that is needed to protect someone's safety or our own legal rights.

Referrals to Other Contractors

Now and then a request falls outside what we do: a house beyond our 18 towns, a remodel or an addition, or a modular or manufactured home. In those cases we may offer to connect you with another contractor or with a contractor matching service.

Your details are passed along for that introduction only after you say yes to it. Without that yes, we never share them for a referral.

Phone Calls and Our AI Receptionist

Calls to our number may be picked up first by an AI receptionist, which lets you know near the start of the call that it is an AI. It records your contact information and what you tell it about your land and the house you want, then saves a call summary to your file in our CRM.

In the daytime the receptionist can hand your call to a person when you ask. Outside those hours it takes your details so we can return your call.

Text Messages and Phone Calls

Each lead form here carries a consent box that is unchecked to start, and the form cannot be sent until you check it. The consent language beside that box permits us to reach you about your project by email, SMS text or phone, automated technology included, and it says that consent is not required to make any purchase.

We text about your request and your new home, from setting up the lot visit to progress notes during the build. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply.

  • Text STOP whenever you like to end our texts, and a single final text confirms the opt-out.
  • Text HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your mobile number is never given to third parties for their own marketing. Records of your text opt-in and consent are kept by us alone and never shared with third parties.

You may stop our calls and texts whenever you choose. Reply STOP, or let us know on a call or by email.

Cookies and Analytics

No advertising cookies are set by this website, and it uses no analytics or tracking tools. Before that ever changed, we would update this policy to name the tool and the cookies it uses.

Where the contact page lists a street address, the directions link goes to Google Maps, and from there Google's privacy policy applies. Your browser settings let you block or clear cookies, and every page here works without them.

How Long We Keep Information

Request records stay on file while we respond and follow up about your house. Records for customers can be held longer when tax law or the building contract requires it.

How We Protect Your Information

Your information sits with the providers listed above, and access is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system connected to the internet is safe from every breach, and we cannot promise otherwise.

Should a breach ever expose your personal information, we will notify you as Maine's data breach notification law requires.

Your Rights and Requests

You may ask us to:

  • let you see the personal information we have about you
  • correct anything that is inaccurate or outdated
  • erase your information, except where a signed contract or the law says we must keep it

Email [email protected], or call the number on our contact page, to make a request. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act on it.

Children's Privacy

This site is built for adults planning a new home. We do not knowingly gather information from anyone under 18, and we delete any that turns up.

Our pages point to public sources such as town code offices, Maine's shoreland zoning and septic rules and the federal flood maps. Each of those sites has its own privacy policy, which this one does not cover.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may change as our tools or the law change. The dated version shown on this page is the one that applies.
